Why won't it start?
I have a '94 LT1 with 72k.
It has always fired right up when I turn the key and sounds like a million bucks. A few days ago, I started it, it ran for about a second and died and then I couldn't get it to restart. I turn the key and the starter turns the engine with lots of power, after doing that for about 15 seconds, I stop and try again. The first time this happened to me, it eventually started and ran without incident. Now, it won't start at all.
Here's a few facts that may or may not be relevant.
I put a new optispark in it about 2 years ago. It has about 4000 miles on it.
Before this happened, the gas got low and I noticed that the check engine light came on. I filled up with gas and I haven't seen the check engine light come back on.
I smell gas after have been turning it over for a while.
I am guessing I will have to have this towed into the shop, but I was wondering if any of the sharp minds here know the likely cause.
