Simple physics, yes, but not advanced. There is a lot of aerodynamics going on, such as the C4 looking somewhat like an air-foil, and the rebound of the springs/shocks.
I don't claim to know how a C4 would fly, but there is a lot more going on than V1 and X1.

I was just kiddin' :) I've been through pilot ground school, just can't afford the flights tests.
Uhh.. if you go air borne.. you better freakin' have your wheels facing the direction that your car is traveling! .. or you're going to have some big problems!
Took my Vette airborne (not intentionally) when I was zipping down at about 120mph on a local 4 lane highway. I hit a slight crest in the road and bottome out my driver's side front wheel. Even though the car has been repainted since then I have a nice rub mark from where the tire hit inside the fender well on the backside of the hood. The car gets a little squirrely when it lands at and angle like that. :jester
I'm just looking at the tires where they would normally contact the road surface, particularly the left rear. It sorta looks to me like the bottoms of those tires could be sitting on something. It may just be the angle. The shadows on the ground seem real enough tho.
Nevermind...I just noticed the suspension appears fully extended.
We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming....

Yeah I was fortunate to land pretty even both times no one was behind me on my first flight so I don't know how high I got but those that were behind me on my next trip all said I had about a foot of air under the tires. I had the petal to the floor both times and ASR off so like I said when I landed the rears broke loose for a second kickin' the A S S about a foot to the right. I wish I could have seen it it had to look way cool :D  there was another time where We (Dowell and I) were going about 65 and we crested a peak that extended the suspensions on both cars that was actually a harder jolt then the the times I got off the ground(physics or not). still no damage though. I have since put about 1000 miles on the car and all seems well. however I think i'm done with doing that since I never get lucky more then twice ;) next time I'll probably loose it and end up in a tree
