I like the convenience of a hardtop with the option to enjoy the open cabin. The C4 hardtop is a pain in the bum with those @#%! bolts but they corrected that with the C5 which uses T-top style levers. Plus I like the look of the car when the targa top is off it looks so chic!
Keep it standard.
I do feel that Chevy should offer a stripper "club-sport" version of the Corvette with no power windows, air, or radio with maybe a lower pony power engine all for $28-30k. It would be a great Honda S2000 fighter and give GM a great entry level sportscar for the "enthusiasts". The $42K+ is just too much for a C5 even though it does have awesome performance the price/quality just doesnt draw in the younger enthusiasts into the Chevy fold.

i think i would rather have a vert or a coupe with no removable anything. This targa is a pain when i want to take it off, it takes 5 min to get it off for no more than a 10 minute drive and then 5 more to put it back on, dont like it.

I say keep making all three. The frame is rigid enough to keep the car straight without a roof.. Let the people spending the money decide. I do like the FRC option like the c5's if it is a cost savings. :chevy

Seems as if most people like the feature. Ok, then it stays.....BUT, they should make a hardtop version from now on that people like myself who don't like the removable roof can opt for.

Chevy shouldn't, maybe GM should?(show me where it says Chevy on a vette
Maybe I'm wrong (kinda doubt it), but that looks a lot like a "Chevrolet" :chevy emblem next to the checkered flag.
If you don't like the Targa, leave it on. It may be a pain to take off, but it sure is easy as hell to leave on.

The F-body is a great car but it has a back seat and that #%*! solid axle which is unexcusable especially if Mazda, Honda & BMW can make their entry level sportscars with IRS & (2) seats and you can pick them up for less than $32k.
(Sorry I wasnt trying to be a smart alec just feeling like a goof this morning!) :jester

It depends on how they make the rear end look. I hate the look of the FRC, it just chops too quickly and ruins the line of the car. The more traditional hatch glass makes the car look a lot sleeker in my opinion. I've never driven one but it seems as if the FRC would suffer in visibility and would also feel more cramped.
Removable roof or not they shouldn't butcher the roofline that much. Personally I would like to see the removable roof remain. However if ANY of the C6 previews that I have seen actually make it into production, I don't want it, so they can do whatevery they want with the roof.
