Anti Lock warning light on my 86 L98
What would the causes be for the anti lock brake light warning to be lit in the inside panel?? my brakes work fine but I understand that with theis light on, I do not have anti locks....any responses would help

You have ABS. It could be a bad ABS wheel sensor or a controller failure etc. You will need to pull your FSM to determine what code is being displayed.

Check Brake Fuse, Guages Fuse, Stop-Haz Fuse, and the INJ 1 Fuse located in the fuse panel. All these fuses power the ABS. Fuse panel is on the far right of the dash on the side with the passanger door open.

GM designed the ABS system in such a way, that your normal braking system will be unaffected by an ABS failure. The car will brake just fine, but ABS won't work. Weather you want to fix the ABS light is optional, not mandatory.

I just took the bulb out 8 years ago and brakes work great.

It's ben a couple of years on mine, but turns out one of the relays was sligtly loose. The modulator and electronics are in the little compartment behind the driver's seat. Pull the tray, and likely some insulation to reveal everything. It's an easy check on the relays before you pull the light!
