The S4's are 165mph and high 13 sec cars. Definately nothing to write off... I've always loved them and would have bought one over my LT4 if it weren't for the maintence horror stories. Waiting for Blown87 to chime in. BTW, the 928 was a major inspiration for the C4according to Dave Mcllelan, and the tansaxle design gives near 50/50 wt dist; very similar to the C5.

I just don't get the math i guess. Dave was able to build a car that would do the quarter mile in 14.4 in 1989. That car costs about $31,00. The $72,000 price tag of the 1989 928S seems pretty unreasonable for a mere half second. (13.9) So I have to ask myself. If I wanted to spend that kind of money why not come up with another $25,000 and go with a car that will always be worth a fortune. The Calloway option fitted to a mere 69 Corvettes in 1989. I would still save a bundle and have a 12 second car that gets up near the 190 range and have purchased a collectible car that will always hold its value. Neither Dodge, Ford, Porsche, Ferrari or anyone will ever get it. For over half a century Chevrolet has built the best sports car money can buy. It does not take a six figure salary to maintain one, and most middle class Americans can afford one.
The retail price for both models in 84 - 95 was what?
What is the discount on that price today? And what is the reward in the future? Drive and enjoy the opportunity.
Performance cars are fun, dont get territorial when it comes to fun. Its a piece of metal, fiberglass, or aluminum. The memory of running into a pheasant with your friends/ family on a sunny day is as good a memory as a windfall of cash from selling the car you never drove?
No one in their right mind could think this car has nice lines. Im convinced it engineers spent their evenings at the local bar , drinking to many Heineken's.
That Dutch stuff will do it to ya every time.
Who knows, if they had been drinking one of the good German beers instead they might of topped the 911.
