Well, I didn't drive it any, and last weekend I started it up, and it was hard to start. I had to give it gas and I got lots of smoke. So, I'm guessing there must have been some Seafoam still in the system. Do you think there would be any damage with the Seafoam sitting in there for so long?

I don't know why there would be any in there as I drove it around the block a few times after I did the Seafoam thing.

Doubtful. It eats carbon, not metal or rubber.

I doubt there is but the only way to find out is to drive on.

After I restarted mine, and after all the smoke cleared from the initial restart, I took it on the highway and drove it hard, just to get the temps up high. Not sure if that does anything, but it felt good.

My car never smokes. Either there is no carbon in there or my motor is really messed up inside.

I used it on my Vette about a year ago. Got some smoke when I was pouring it through the vac line. Waited, restarted the motor, and nothing much. Kind of disappointed.

Did my 92 Miata with 185k for the first time a few days ago. Motor has been running bad and had a bouncing idle. I was cleaning out the IAC and cleaning come other intake related stuff so I figured I would give seafoam a go. I only used about 1/5 through the vac line. Lot of smoke putting it in which is why I stopped and stalled out the motor. On restart there was a lot of smoke for a long time. Motor is no running and idling smoother. Going to give it some more tomorrow. Definitely adding it to the annual servicing for the miata.

A few people I have talked to have recommended getting the motor not just warm, but to temperature before using it.

Definitely should get the engine at operating temperature, and let it sit. The first time I did it about a year ago, I let it stay in for a couple hours, and I got some smoke but not billowing.....but then, I only put in half a can. This time, put in a full can, and let it sit all day at work, and got billowing billowing smoke. So, don't know if it's really carbon burning off, or the seafoam burning off....but the car has a bit more pep.

Burnt Carbon does not smoke.
The smoke is only due to the seafoam.
For carbs and 2 strokes engines seafoam is ok.
With injection, this is a total waste of time.
Stick to 93 octane, best way to keep your engine clean
And put some high quality oil.

Having any in your oil is the best way to
Keep your engine as durty as you cannot even imagine.
