I want to change the windshield in my 89 convertable... I can buy the glass for $125... I have new weatherstriping already... what else will I need? and should I tackle it my self.. thanks JOHN

It depends. If you want to put the foam/mylar back on, you will need to buy that from GM ($$). Most people reuse it if they can, or just do without it. Be very carefull and deliberate when you take off the three pieces of metal trim from around the windshield. If it hasn't been replaced before it can be a problem (they bend very easily) There are screws hidden under the two side pieces (small head philips, that require you to separate the side trim (they are glued together with the above mentioned foam/mylar). You probably already know this, but the trim pieces are screwed to the windshild pillar underneath the weatherstip.
