Default speedo

still having problems with speedometer, where is the pickup point for the speedometer, on the trans,on the front tire, on the rearend ? vette is a 91 with a older th350 trans with a cable fitting on the tail shaft, how can i make this work with digidal dash? i cant find any wires to the trans from the dash or was there a cable? also i changed carbs from a holley to a eldelbrock and lost the power brakes, i put a larger fitting on the vacuum port on the carb but that did not change any thing, so i put a vacuum canaster on and that did not help, what else can i try to regain the brakes with out going to a remote vacuum pump. any help please

In a stock '91 the speedomenter sender (VSS) is mounted into the side of the transmission.
You can't really use a (mechanical/cable) speedo sender in the tranny and expect to hook it up to a stock instrument cluster and expect it to work without some kind of a converter box in-between....not even sure if they make those. However, it is possible to use one of the ABS wheels sensor pick-ups off one of the front wheels to trigger the cluster speedo since both VSS and ABS sensors generate an AC sign wave.....not sure how accurate it would be though. You could just put a mechanical speedo in there and skip all the wiring and call it a day.

Not sure what to tell you about the vacuum loss on the booster...good luck with that.
