I have a 92 manual with 114,000 mi. The other day when i was pulling away from a light as i tried shifting into 2nd the clutch pedal went straight to the floor, with none of the usual resistance. The car was stuck in 1st gear. I pulled over and checked under the car for fluid loss, i even tried pumping the clutch but nothing worked. I did not have any previous clutch issues i.e. clutch slipping. Is it time for a new clutch? If so when i start buying the replacement clutch what else should i replace while i'm in there? Some suggestions were rear main bearing, flywheel, gear for the starter. Please help.
It could be a leak in your slave cylinder. I was driving mine for the last time for the year a few years back and when I went to shift my clutch went to the floor. Here the slave cylinder corroded from moisture in the fluid and developed a small hole and I bled pressure off enough not to be able to use the clutch.
When it happened to me I took it to the dealer and they wanted $1600 to do the master and the slave, I took it to a regular mechanic and he did it for $600, but the dealer diagnosed it. So it might have needed just the master cylinder and the dealer was just trying to rip me off for the maximum amount possible. So in your case it might be able to be repaired for $300 or less, or a max of $600 if it needs both the master and slave.
I have the same problem currently....mine is w/my technician......now on mine, there was clutch (brake) fluid dripping from the bottom of the car at a pretty good rate.....kept getting worse and worse....
Had mine replaced 2 years ago. Clutch master cylinder, line and slave. It's leaking again. I even had them put in a later edition slave because of the manufacturing blunder on the earlier slaves where the seals were put in backwards. I' dont even have 3000 miles on this set.
I replaced both the slave and master cylinder last year and it is leaking again from the slave cylinder already! FML stupid hydraulic clutch. I wish it was a cable.

Do you make house calls? I'm up north in Concord. Just drive up and stay for a couple weeks and fix all my problems with my Vette. I'll feed you, keep beer in the fridge, have college and NFL football on all the time and you can charge me what you think is appropriate being that repairs are so much now. Whadda you say?

My set up was only 4 years old......I also wish there was as a mechanical clutch conversion set up....I am told there is no way to do it......not a fan of the hydraulic clutch in a high performance car at all.....
