Default Scion Driver.

This is sort of a bummer

My 94 Coupe's been in the shop for a couple of weeks getting painted... can't wait for the paint, but I'm getting a little tired of driving around my Daughter's Scion XA.... for sure.

Maybe it'll be back next week.

Going from a Corvette to a XA is just brutal. After driving that XA and then getting your beautiful vette back your going to be crazy in love with it.

After driving that little Lo-Po, you better keep the ASR on for a while or you'll bust your butt!

I really want my car in the shop to get my new engine installed

At the same time I'm glad I'm driving it in this nice weather.

Slap a 300 shot of Nitro on the Daughter's Scion XA...that should give you the power your used to.....the suspension may also need some upgrades though. Hang in there big guy! Post some pics of the new paint once you get it back.

I am shopping my 86 Vette around for a new paint job. I was wondering where your Vette is being painted and if you don't mind what price you are paying. I got 2 quotes so far, 1 shop said $4000 to $6000 and the second said $7500 and more if I need the emblems and rubber gasket for the rear part of targa along the window area. I want 2 more quotes.
The paint will be the same stock color.
Thanks, and post pics when you are done.

It's actually being done at the MAACO facility in San Jose (Tully Road, across from the fairgrounds). The owner is a personal friend and he and I have been trading favors for decades, so I don't really have a quote. He used to own a corvette, I think it was a C4, and sort of dared me to let him do mine.... so I just gave it to him... and didn't even tell him what to do... it's gonna be interesting when I get it back.

I'll post pictures when I get it back and give you a first hand report, and mention to him that you're out there... He's painted other cars for me... and if I let him know that you come through me.. he'll probably be pretty competitive.

I bought my own emblems (Front and Gas Tank) from Ecklers and left them on the seat when I dropped it off. It was black when I left it - I hope it's black when I get it back.

Thanks WPK. I am looking forward to the pics. Funny you mention Maaco. I was at the DVC Corvette show last and asked around about paint shops and one person suggested Miracle Auto Paint in Pleasanton and how they shoot a lot of paint for the Goodguys show cars. I would have never considered Miracle or Maaco. Keep us posted on the results. Thanks.
