Yes, even more so, and yes.
I ride a V-star 1100 Classic. I take up less than a 1/2 a lane in traffic, get between 35-45 mpg (depending on how easy I am on the throttle), and enjoy the ride, in some ways, even more than when I'm in my Vette.

The "Smart" car, according to Forbes magazine article, gets 33 city & 41 hwy MPG. Not too good for such a small vehicle. The Honda CRX(?), as I recall (I could be wrong), got nearly 40 in the city alone. That's what I remember hearing, but don't hold me to it.

The most telling thing to me is that my wife "would never ride in such a stupidly little car", but she WILL ride on the bike with me

Just some late night random thoughts - be cool all

You are correct sir. My 89 CRX got at least that around town. and that was 20 years ago, and no batteries to dispose of like a Hybrid and no Golf carts to get less than that.

Of course I do not help matters because I do 80 in it down the interstate. Would I trade in my vette for one? Heck no! I love my vette but then again I am a different type of driver and don't contend or expect that everyone should drive like me or like the same cars as me. So please feel free to drive up next to my wife and rev your motors and burn some gas, because she will not care. She will drive off the line happy in what she drives and finds it a bonus that she saves money also. BTW, the insurance on the brand new Smart is cheaper than on my 92 ford ranger. So she is smiling all the way to the bank.
I'm not picking at you BUT do you feel safe at 80mph in the Smart Car?
Serious question.
Thanks in advance

I was a little angry because I had been on another forum and corrected them in trying to bash us gas guzzlers, I do mean us, I actually own a Tundra, Vette, Conversion Van and then smart car. The thought being that no one here would bash another group because of their choice in cars, but I was wrong when I saw the bashing of prius owners and then smart car owners. But that is no excuse and again apologize to everyone on the forum.
Well, not for nothing, but the reason people dont like the cars, at least I think, is not so much due to the car itself, but more because of the self righteous bastards driving them. Typically they have a holyer than thou attitude. You acted like that with your response. My wife drove a Saab for years, and I got nothing but razzing from fellow car enthusiasts. She loved it though.

The fact that the car is slightly larger than a Golf Cart but no place for the clubs is funny. I dont care what you say. No differant than my Spitfire being tiny and probably unsafe as hell. My buddies didnt like it, didnt want one, made fun of me for driving it, but were there to help when I needed to work on it. I think that is how this forum is. Do you think your buddies on the Smart car forum would EVER come help work on your Corvette?? I think not. You lashed out against people that will make fun of you and maybe razz you, but would be there when you need help, no matter what.

IF you cant take a little razzing from fellow enthusiasts, you might be in the wrong place.

Resorting to calling names was crap. And you pointed your apology to the wrong guy. The person you quoted did not get called a fat a$$hole. My buddy and I were. I dont care if friends give me $hit and call me a fat bastard, but I dont know you in any way and it was uncalled for. I have been called far worse, but usually not from perfect strangers LOL
