Default frame structure
I been wondering the frame structure of the c4 vette, is it aluminum or steel? And how much of the car is aluminum or steel?

My understanding is all steel until 1989 when rear sub became aluminum. Found this out when I thought about installing a trailer hitch

it depends on what you consider the frame




Bird cage is mostly/all steel Parts GM considers frame in other picts are aluminum

What you see in the pic is steel; the bolt on assemblies like the rear bumper support are alum.
Firewall / front half of floor pan are fibreglass
