Default Good bye

Sold the 1996 LT4 to another member, via ebay. So it's a sad farewell.
It's hard to sell a corvette, so I priced it to sell, and that did it.
The LT4 is perhaps one of the best motored cars I have ever owned.
The car NEVER LET ME DOWN. But 7 years was enough. Although I loved the car, my back doesn't let me get in and out of it easily any more. So it was time to go. The guy flew in, and is driving it back 1/2 way across the country.

This is the cool part. 5 months ago, my father who is 71 had open heart surgery. So after the surgery, I gave him the car & he used it for the past 5 months. I knew using the car would get him moving again. He had a hard time getting in and out of it, so he won't say he enjoyed it, but I know deep down inside he did. and I know the shifting, and sports car feel would do him good. He got me into this hobby, so I was happy to let him use the car.

I do not see another Corvette in my future, but you never know. For me, it's time to move on to a cushy family sedan.

a c5 or 6 is easy to get in and out of and they ride alot smoother, maybe one in your future? if not, good luck.

Not that easy, but being newer has some advantages.

Sorry Larry to see you sell your car, both of my vettes and any future vettes will be with me till the day I die.

I couldn't think of never owning one. My problem is I'd like a new GS but can't afford it right now and I really don't want to get rid of the 84 either.

You'll be back. We needed a practical family car for my wife to drive this past June. We looked around and found an LS1 camaro that we use as our "family car". It gets pretty good mileage when my wife drives it.

All of our other cars are all 2 seaters.

Sorry to hear, but sounds like the right thing for you. Very cool about your dad, too. Best of luck!

Down the road maybe YOUR kid will post "My Dad used to have a Corvette but sold it - I let him use my C-8 for a few weeks and it really did him good!"

I feel the same way, eventually I will upgrade to a newer corvette but the 96 is my first vette and it will stay with me.

I'm glad you finally sold it. I was getting nervous for you as I was watching the auction. That car was definitely a steal.

BTW....If you're thinking family sedan, make it a CTS-V.

I know what you mean about getting in and out of a C4 but I will keep doing it as long as I can because I would miss the feeling of driving my Vet to much. However I do understand your situation. The best to you. Remember this Vet owners don't die that just fade away

ADIOS! but I never understood why someone who would sell their vette and stop posting? I wouldn't stop posting because I sold my vette because it is the reason why I joined granted but...it's clear that we've all made friends here so aren't they worth staying and posting? for me YES but perhaps others NO?
