Most of the time when you have intermittent electrical problems they can be traced down to bad connections....power or ground signal. Can be caused by dirt, corrosion or just plain wear and tear...anything that gets in front of the electrical pathway can drive you nuts. I'm not really familiar with your dash connections so I'mnot much help on specifics but may one of the early C4 guys can get you pointed in the right direction.

later,tiny

Radio requires 2 fuses to function. CLK/CTSY and Radio, test them both.
No experience with cluster, but you may find help here >>>> http://www.batee.com/corvette/dcrg/repair.htm

Does your power antenna work? Do you have interior lights? If not, check the fuse as these are on the same circuit and will cause the radio not to work, but you will still hear the speakers clicking on and off. It's on the passenger side of the dash when you open the passenger door. If the power antenna is bad it could be causing the fuse to blow. Disconnect the antenna power lead in the back of the hatch area under the plastic trim at the bottom of the window and try a new fuse. If the fuse doesn't blow, it will be the antenna motor that's bad causing the radio not to work. The dash cluster may just need replaced. It was a common problem with its solder connections from the factory. You can get it rebuilt or replaced on ebay or under parts section here for about $250.00. It's a simple one piece plug and play dash cluster component. Keep us informed.
