, this also tells me you might be more of an avid member, than a kid getting sweaty palms over working on some teachers 96 corvette with a body theme.

If you seen one you have seen two. No big deal.

"Wow... N00b is getting feisty!

Although, Grand Sport is 2 words. I'd think an expert like you would have known that."
I wouldnt really consider me a noob, Ive been here since March of 2009, it says that below my name but you probably already knew that and yes I know Grandsport is two words, I spell stuff wrong like everyone else on this forum so quit trying to make fun of me for spelling its annoying. I never considered me an expert, I dont know where thats coming from.

At least now I'm an informed idiot
Calm down I was kidding.

If you seen one you have seen two. No big deal.
I dont care what you say, if I see one im going to get excited, If I get to work on one I will get really excited. Admit it, they are special. Im sorry I dont own two of them but If I did I would probably sit in my yard looking at them, work on them all day and drive them, thats an enthusiast.

Not too many here will get suicidal or question their manhood (except maybe Sheri) over what some kid in his high school auto shop says. Let me explain, very few of us own GS's here so not many of us really research them much. Be honest, the only reason you know is because you Googled it, anyone can do that. I have had my hands all over third and fourth generation Corvettes, doing restorations and repairs. I feel safe saying I know more about them than you based on my experience and your post. Doesn't mean you won't pass us all up some day, just not now. In any case, enjoy your time with the car.

Your response does show promise though

You probably do know more about C4s than me, I wouldnt doubt it since you actually restored them before but I didnt google it, I know alot about C4s and other generation corvettes than everyone my age and probably half the people on this forum. I thank you for explaining yourself rather than make fun of me with pictures and immature bull**** like everyone else on this forum. Have you ever taken a ZF out and replaced the pressure plate or throwout bearing, got any advice?

Wish I could help, I have never had to do that one. Many here have, some one will step up.

Good luck..........

72...I'll say it again...My advice is to take this over to C4 Tech with a new thread that goes something like "I am in auto shop and we are doing a clutch on a Grand Sport. Here are some pics...We're excited to have it in here because it's not a HondOta CiviCamAccord and would appreciate any advice tips help..etc."

Seriously, leave the e-**** thread behind for now and take it to where you can get what you are looking for. My guess is not many people who have done this are looking at this thread.

Then come back and swing the the e-**** around for fun here.

GS 564 has the same "over spray" look to the underside but no paint work has been done to the car. Also I don't care if I've seen 1, 10, or 100 I still get excited seeing a GS. Let us know the VIN if you can.

I agree with Aurora, I guess I'm a little luckier than you in that I had a friend who was already a senior member when I joined. He hipped me up to not being thin skinned on the forum. Hang in there 72muriasv, you'll get the roll on after a bit. In the mean time enjoy your opportunity to work on one and learn. Just hope its a Corvette Gran Sport and not a Buick Gran Sport, not that there's anything wrong with a Buick GS, but it seems you might be a little dissappointed,

Default update

we sent the flywheel to get resurfaced (very light) also got new pressure plate assembly and old bellhousing insatalled. Found out yesterday the spline is bent we are still puzzled on how that happened. There are heat marks from the spline rubbing agaist the sleeve and the pilot bearing is quite loose from the spline wearing against it so it wasnt us I cant imagine thats just from dumping the clutch. We found out the car was wrecked before but the car is near flawless and I dont see any signs of damage at all. Maybe something on the cars body has been replaced and the bodyshop took the motor out and while in the process bent the spline? I dont know. Instead of tearing apart the tranny we ordered a new one. ill post pictures tonight. By the way found out its actually a dealers car so someone will be lucky.
