no you didnt scare me off and I dont find you guys to be that funny...anyway the Corvette arrived today, (it took forever because of weather conditions.), it has a Grand Sport Registry sticker in the window so I imagine its registered on there. I will get the vin tomorrow and pictures, make fun of me for spelling in the meantime. A 13/27 wrench...
Is it just me or does that look to be a bunch of paint overspray on the underside?
I think GSs were white to start with then the AB was sprayed.
Man I hope I'm right or I'll get blasted
72MiuraSV don't lets these guys kill your enthusiasm, they mean mostly no harm.
Around here is like walking into a frat house, everything is fair game for ball bustin
???? Im sorry if my story sounds corny or bores you.I thought you guys might find it interesting that i get to work on a Grandsport because they are a very special corvette, I figured as soon as I said Grandsport you guys would be asking questions like what suspention it is equipped with (F45, Z51 , ETC.) or if it had red or black interior and so on. I guess I was wrong, you could care less about Grandsports. I thought you guys would give me advice about the work I will be doing (some of you might have already did this on your own 6 speed c4) I guess I was wrong there too. You probably wouldnt understand anyway. I was going to post pictures but its just going to be a waste of time, you dont care. I really did expect more out of you guys. I bet the majority of you dont even work on your own cars or dont know what im even talking about so you decide to make fun of me on a forum with pictures, keep it up.
Get the car , take pics, ask questions, its ALL GOOD.
You guys are idiots. Everyone thinks Grandsports started off with Arctic White then masked off and painted Admiral Blue. All Grandsports used a offwhite primer but the body is Admiral Blue. The hash marks and pinstripes are tape.

Next, you'll be saying that we're a bunch of stupid old men!!

If you're trying to get even, well then;
Not too many here will get suicidal or question their manhood (except maybe Sheri) over what some kid in his high school auto shop says. Let me explain, very few of us own GS's here so not many of us really research them much. Be honest, the only reason you know is because you Googled it, anyone can do that. I have had my hands all over third and fourth generation Corvettes, doing restorations and repairs. I feel safe saying I know more about them than you based on my experience and your post. Doesn't mean you won't pass us all up some day, just not now. In any case, enjoy your time with the car.
Your response does show promise though

Nice, I'm an idiot! I had actually heard that from a GS owner many years ago at a show. Looking at his GS it sure looked like evidence to support that in the door and hood jambs, etc.
OK, I stand corrected and after the above comment I researched this. Came up with this from the GS Registry site in the FAQ section:
#8 Q: I've heard that all '96 Grand Sports started out as white Corvettes. Is this true?
A: No. This is another favorite old wives tale that insists that when GM was producing the Grand Sport, they started off with an Arctic White Corvette, then masked it off and painted the non-stripe areas Admiral Blue. There is an off white, primer base below the blue but its not an Arctic White finish coat. The rumor was probably started by someone who ran their fingernail over the pinstripes on a GS and noted that it caught on the blue, not the white, hence they assumed (incorrectly) that the blue paint was applied over white. The secret is that the pinstripes are not paint at all but rather tape with two parallel colors, white and blue. GM used tape for the pinstripes (and hashmarks) because they found it too difficult to paint. Understandable since the "skunk" stripe varies in width from front to back.

Wow... N00b is getting feisty!
Although, Grand Sport is 2 words. I'd think an expert like you would have known that.
Don't let the usual ***** heads that have no lives get you down. I would like to hear about it.
