god bless texas and her castle doctrine
I agree .45 ACP is a great deterence
but if you need 30 rounds of 45 ACP for home defense you either:
1. have to find a better neighborhood
2. get some more range time
3. buy a more accurate pistol

In LA and MS your car is an extension of your home is it the same in Texas?

In all seriousness, I wholeheartedly recommend full coverage insurance. If someone wants your car bad enough, no gadget is going to stop them. Most won't even slow down a good car thief.
that's my first choice as well.

I have an opportunity to purchase a 357 Desert Eagle from a friend of mine that has had less than one box of ammo put through it for 700 bucks.

It is stamped with manufactured for the Israel Army, or something like that.

I go with the Springfield Arms XD-40 cal. auto (sub compact) deterent. It's almost the size of my P-22 but with a nice big hollow point.

The O.P. asked about security suggestions for his Corvette. How did you think those of us who live in a free republic were going to answer?

You guys are great, because God knows I'm going to buy a handgun for just about anywhere I can hide it once I'm old enough.

I've only shot an AR-15 and a .45 Desert Eagle before, though. Haven't shot the Ruger yet.

Concealed weapons permit, the way to GO!!!

In case any liberals who are confused by the second amendment are trolling the boards, my Vette sleeps indoors. If the goblins come in the garage, they are technically in my home....and it's game on.

But I've always believed that comprehensive coverage with a reputable insurance company is your best defense if it gets taken anywhere else. You get a check for the car's market value and go shopping. Yes, you probably won't get what you think the car is worth, but given C4 values right now, you can buy a replacement car and not get hurt too badly. Maybe even upgrade a bit.

Sounds great.

Learn all you can about your weapon, keep it clean and oiled, take a course and get your concealed carry permit, practice often, learn the laws regarding its use.

Be safe and happy.

PS....firearms are quite addictive. We all started with just one.
