Yeah...move to Texas. Here's what I use. So far, so good.

In all seriousness, I wholeheartedly recommend full coverage insurance. If someone wants your car bad enough, no gadget is going to stop them. Most won't even slow down a good car thief.

It seems other use a similar system as I do.

I love my Springfield Arms model 1911A Corvette Theft Deterrent System. Compact, effective, and the system is very easy to re-arm after it has activated. It also doubles as a home security system as well.

In case any liberals who are confused by the second amendment are trolling the boards, my Vette sleeps indoors. If the goblins come in the garage, they are technically in my home....and it's game on.

But I've always believed that comprehensive coverage with a reputable insurance company is your best defense if it gets taken anywhere else. You get a check for the car's market value and go shopping. Yes, you probably won't get what you think the car is worth, but given C4 values right now, you can buy a replacement car and not get hurt too badly. Maybe even upgrade a bit.

I've gotten my vette to not run so much in the past it's a piece of cake

I typically rely on insurance like others said, I even removed all anti-theft from my car when the wires burned up and I rewired it.

However if I'm incredibly paranoid I'll use my laptop to load a dud tune into the Holley C950 ECU so nobody can start it

I love the Springfield 1911A Corvette anti theft. I opted for the Glock 30SF Corvette anti theft with the optional 30rd mag. module for those time you need more lead in the air between reloads. .45ACP is a excellent deterrent.

god bless texas and her castle doctrine

I like to park next to hondas. It's like the vette isn't even there. Those hondas are irresistible to car thieves, apparently.

I can't imagine wanting a Honda......free or otherwise. I'm sure they're great cars, but they are the epitome of boring. All the personality of a toaster.

But hey, if they keep your Vette from being stolen, at least they are good for something.

Here is a wireless theft deterent system most commonly associated with Mustangs but could easily work in this application.
