Default Headlight replacement

Had the low beam go out on the port side the other night and have been looking at the replacement setups from Mid-America and Ecklers.

Have any of ya'll tried the lightweight setup or the Hellas ? I'd really like to get something with more ooomph than just another sealed beam.....after riding with good headlights on the bike, I feel like I'm driving blind in the Vette with the stock setup.

later, tiny

Buy the Hella light housing from here http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=354 and use the 85/80 Osram H4 bulbs or any watt HB2/H4 bulb you'd like.

Second the above or get the Cibie's from Aardvarck or Daniel Stern lighting. They fit right in and are a 100% improvement over stock.

On that note, I was surprised to find plastic housings and lens in the lights I took out. I kept the in case I need to revert but what garbage. Did they really come stock with plastic sealed beams or was that someone ideas of aftermarket nonsense?

Go with the Euro H4's.

The later year C4's did in fact come with plastic. Not sure what year that started though.

Yeah, they seem like garbage by today's standards.
But put yourself back in the year when the car was new. Nobody had HID headlights back then, so the Corvette was in line with other cars of the time.

Just buy the Hella H4 Enclosures. Then any H4 bulb from that point onward will fit. I tried the silverstars first but the Hellas were better.

That reminds me, I need a new light on the port side as well.

Very happy with my Hella E-spec lenses and Hella 100/80 bulbs.
