Default ---Inspection!---

I just passed state inspection (NJ) about 10 min ago, but upon doing so they had this pop up lift that lifted the car from who knows where (engine cradle)???

Sorry for the bad pic, the inspectors were yelling at me to get out of there and turn off the camera... whatever, didnt stop me!

I wanted to show you guys and ask for input whether this could damage anything. The stupid lift popped out of the ground like there was a fire lit under it and then it just dropped the car! I wasnt happy with that!

Plus, they were a little rev happy with my Vette. They only reved the other cars once to like 2000 rpms but mine they had to at least hit 4k! Only I can rev to 4K!

Oh well, I passed and they didnt even do an exhuast check which was surprising. They just used the OBDII port to check, which means if you dont have cats and run O2 simulators you can pass!

Maybe now I will get my exhaust!!!

Looks like it hits right under the front crossmember. No worries....I've been jacking my car from there for 12 years now with no ill effects.

Congrats on the pass

I would be out there beating the crap out of someone if they lift my car like that and then rev it that high with no reason. As for the taking of pic if it not a dealership they can not tell you to stop taking pic because it open to anyone.

If they didn't do a visual, what was the purpose of putting it on the lift? No sniffer up the tailpipe?

It's highly unlikely that a L98 could rev to 4 grand

FILE something on the A-HOLES, those sh!! for brains always pull that crap by me. I have had gas caps cut off, I have had one of my mustangs roll away in N. That is absurd, Most of the idiots barely know how to drive let alone be doing anything that could result in structural damage.

(he has LT1 if he has OBDII)

Seriously....while it may have alarmed you a bit, 4K isn't going to hurt your engine in the least. I do suggest another inspection facility....it does sound like they're a bit careless. Are your facitilites independent shops or state run stuff? I have a trusted mom and pop shop that does my inspections...same one Shbbykins uses.

I would have asked them what they had to hide.

Nope, they didnt even use the mirrors on the stick to check under the car (probably couldnt see much bc the Vette sits too low). All they did was the OBDII port connection, check the lights, windows, shut the car and started it up, wipers and a brake test...

I have no clue why it went on the lift... They just tried to shake the tires and thats all!

I was surprised!

Yeah, tell me about it! Its a state place so its free instead of the private places that are at least $100 near me... I know that reving to 4k isnt gonna hurt her but there was no reason to do that, and thats what gets me mad. I baby my car, and when they shut her off and turned her back on then reved it like that right away I was ...

In my state Pa. a few years ago they told us they were going turn inspection over to state police and spent $$$$$$$$$$ on building facilates all over the state,no more private stations. Just before they were about to open they closed them all. VERY INTERESTING I THOUGHT. No real expaination just usual gov. BS

No sniffer test here in Mass. either if the vehicle is a '96 or newer, the computer tells them everything the sniffer used to.
