Royal Purple?
Thanks for the compliment--us Georgia 'boys'(I'm an ol' fart) gotta stick togeather whether we love GMs or Fords--or both.
I change my RP(and filter) about every 5,000 miles. It would probably be ok to go longer but I choose to err on the conservative side.
Btw, if you're into 1/4 mileing, come on down to Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, Ga., some Fri. night and join in on the fun we have there.

Sounds like the semi-synth has been tested and met both API and GM 4718M. Only final thing is has anybody seen the GM4718M on the bottle?
Anyway, that would make it usable for me. The only things us lay-folks can go by is testing to standards, i.e. API and GM4718M. If it says 4718M on the bottle I would use it (would test it though!).
Next time you are a parts store, check out the bottles of oil. Look for GM4718M on the bottles. Almost all synthetics meet the spec. No blends meet the spec. So now I wonder how much dino oil in actually in this Royal Purple blend? Perhaps just enough to get the additives into solution?
