I have the same problem with cats. We have outdoor cats that we feed, that was the first mistake we made years ago. They like to jump on my suv now and then that's parked outside and they do scratch the clear coat. The Corvettes in the garage so that's not really a problem. As mentioned above, I would go to a pet store and ask them if they have some kind of spray for that problem.

Here's a link that might help. http://www.ehow.com/how_4471883_keep-cats-off-car.html
I keep my car in my outbuilding and that's where the cat lives. I didn't mind at first when she got on the cover, that is until she puked on it one night
I am a builder, so I had some extras of these right in my outbuilding- I took some styrofoam venilation chutes (12"x48", that go between the roof trusses) and laid them on top of the cover, mostly around the edge. The cat never bothered again. It was a pain at first, but it only takes an extra minute, and I'm used to doing it now

It ain't for lack of effort. You can always do what I do to ol' Sweetsie.....dip his paws in the tar sands and stick him to the ceiling like a furry pinata.
thanks for all the "expert" advice!! ive never been a cat person but living in the country its a necessary evil!! at one point i gave the cat away and 5 mounths later my wife found him in the pound. so he came back home. i call him my bomerrang cat the harder i throw hi the faster he comes home. i wouldnt hurt him or have him put to sleep but he is trying at times. nothing like spending a afternoon detailing the car and waking up the next day to what looks like had a wwe match on my hood.

If i might make a recommendation?? Declaw the lil bugger.. then he can roam around to his hearts content and not scratch anything.
Or there is always the experimental.. CAT-APULT......
You need to invent something which has a taste pleasant to the cat, yet which convinces it to stay away from the Vette. Design it so it can be manufactured as standard equipment on all Vettes. When you do you can call it the

Our friggin' 3 cats climb on my car UNDER the cover, when I was dumb enough to park it in the carport. I now have to keep it in the garage with all of the doors closed. They love to climb on the Vette, disregarding the 4 other vehicles I have around here. I used to like cats....but no more kitttatas for me.
I put Zaino on my car once and it was so slick that I saw a fly try to light on my hood. He threw little wings out, slid across the hood on his butt and bounced off the concrete floor when he hit. Should work for cats too.
