If you want to just buy one outright check the Summit catalog, they have 700r4 trans that will hold up to 550 hp for $1,600.. I had my trans rebuilt by a local guy 2 years ago and he advertises the trans will hold up to 450 hp and it cost me $1,250 with me pulling it, plus gave me a 3 year 36,000 mile warrenty. One thing nice about local is if something goes wrong there close to home...If you find someone that can rebuild it you can save some money and maybe get more for your money...Good Luck..WW

Based on my experience have your original 700R4 rebuilt and do not look for a replacement. As Pete said, there are many internal part differences that make a Vette tranny special. You won't get those parts except if the tranny is from a vette. I am not satisfied with my 700R4 replacement - it acts like a truck tranny!

I guess the magic question would be:
Is your car a standard shift, or automatic?
If the car has no clutch pedal, it can't be the clutch.
