OK, I know it's not C-4 related, but a reminder to not only be responsible ourselves, but also to watch out for idiots like this. Worst part was he had 3 passengers!
Oneida, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a Westchester County man was drunk when he was clocked driving more than 150 mph before crashing on an upstate New York road.
Authorities say troopers patrolling in Madison County were passed by a 2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4 traveling at a high speed early Sunday morning.
Police say the troopers' radar gun measured the car doing 153 mph.
The troopers turned on their emergency lights, but the driver failed to stop. The car eventually hit a guide rail at an intersection in Oneida, 25 miles east of Syracuse.
Police say 20-year-old Shane Crolick of Bedford Corners was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless endangerment and traffic violations.
Crolick and three passengers weren't injured. He was released on $5,000 bail.
I think a SRT-4 makes about the same power as a TPI c4 but it's afew hundred pound's lighter.
I was looking to buy one at one point in time fun little car's.
So lemme get this straight. An cop was cruising along and this blur went shooting by at 153mph. Can you imagine the conversations...What the F$%^ was that...and "Dude I think that was a cop"

It's terrible that idiots like that are on our roads with our families out there. I have to disagree with the speed of that Neon though. Sorry, but 150 mph is NOT possible in one of those things in stock street form and they cannot cruise at that speed in stock form either no matter how many decals and stripes are on it.
Holy crap. 150 on a public highway, at night, and drunk. His friends/passengers are lucky to be alive. I bet that SRT4 wasn't stock and he was poorly showing off. I'm pretty sure they have a 95 or 120mph governor on the them.

Performance
Power: SAE 215 hp (2003 model)
SAE 230 hp (2004-2005 models)[5][6][7]
In 2004 the SRT-4 received a horsepower bump, with larger fuel injectors and a recalibrated engine computer.[8]
Manufacturers specifications when the SRT-4 was released was 230 horsepower. However, several independent tests have produced results indicating that the SRT-4 produces more horsepower than the manufacturer claims.[9][10][11][12]
Torque: 245 lb·ft (332 N·m) @ 3200-4200 rpm (2003 model)
250 lb·ft (339 N·m) @ 2400-4400 rpm (2004-2005 models) 0-60 miles per hour (97 km/h) time: 5.3 seconds
Rev Limiter/Redline: 6240 Ľ mile (400 m) time: 13.8 seconds
Ľ mile speed: 103 miles per hour (166 km/h) Top speed: Car and Driver magazine achieved a maximum speed of 153 mph (246 km/h).
Nice article, but I don't think that car is safe enough or stable enough to EVER drive at speeds like that. Personally, I think the guy who wrote those "facts" was dreaming. It's just a scrappy little grocery getter if you ask me.
yup that neon has less power that my worthless/modded C4 . I bet it will blow by any old stock gold corvette no matter how pretty the new 10 year old paint is.

Weight is mostly irrelevant to top speed. The key factor at those speeds is coefficient of drag and frontal area (and of course horsepower). The only impact that weight makes on top speed is the effect on rolling resistance of the tires. But even that can be offset by upping tire pressure.
Now as to acceleration, weight has a huge impact.....
