Close to totaled, they wanted to but I wanted it fixed, the body shop fixed the hood and is repainting the whole car
It don't take much to total a C4 anymore. And the value is not the issue. My brother-in-law backed in to my 91 before I painted it. It busted the left front turn signal, and knocked the bumper cover out of alignment. I honestly figured about $500 of damage is what the insurance would say since the only thing that was really hurt was the turn signal lens.
A few week later a guy from farmers insurance came out and tried to total the car ( 1991 L98/A4 with 188,000 miles and needing a paint job bad)
The adjuster lady wanted to total it out and give me $3100, Or $2600 and I keep the car with a salvaged title. I told her to fu*k-0ff and I fixed it myself. No way was I going to allow my corvette to be salvaged for a $90 part and an hour or two labor.

I only learned out of necessity. School nor certificate programs teach much on fiberglass repair. If your interested in learning more about fiberglass work I suggest you do what I did. I called every boat repair and mold manufacturing business within 40 miles, until I found one that would let me work with them a few hours a week. I finally found a real cool guy that repaired large ocean looking boats (In the mountains of NC Never did figure that one out)
I learned more from him in one day, then I did in 2 years of auto body.

Ahhh - So you met the real Insurance Mafia that hides behind the curtain. You were wise..... they are evil. They run the financial sector and most of the "elected" reps....
The women have to have those phones jammed in their ears all the time. Most have them at the gym to work out and talk at the same time.
I swear I wish I could cram those cell phones up peoples *** eveytime I see them on one. Women or men. It' dangerous to me and others. They want to kill them self, i'll give them a bullet to use, but put down the cell phone. Nimrods.

That sucks man! I see it every day too. Some ding-a-ling with her head tucked over to one side holding the cell phone to her shoulder, putting on makeup while smoking a cig. JEEEZZZ
I have one of those blue-tooth ear pieces that will answer the phone without even touching it and I can talk with both hands on the wheel. They are dirt cheap....Why don't more people use them? Oh, I know...they make you look like some Star Wars geek! They'd rather crash than to look silly with something stuck in your ear.
It should be a law that if someone causes a wreck while holding a cell-phone, the cops &/or the victim should have the opportunity to place said phone up their butt !

Dang, they wanted to total it for $3100? That is really low. I think they were trying to scam you.
