So I was driving home 2 weeks ago and got ran over by this nice young lady here in TX. She was talking on a cell phone and decided she wanted to be in my lane more than I did so she turned into it, not useing a blinker or looking. End result, crushing

Quick question, would you find a used clamshell or repair this one? Just curios which option would be the less expensive and would take less work.
Just depends. The correct way to fix it would be to replace the damaged part. Very rarely, will a body will repair a removable fiberglass panel. Just because it is time consuming, and risky. Where a replacement hood is quick, and guaranteed to be right.
If it was my vette and I was responsible for the repair, I would fix the hood for $40 worth of materials. But I know how to do fiberglass, and trust myself.

Guess it depends on experience level, as much glass as I've done, I still don't think I would be comfortable with my abilities enough to repair that much damage, I would just prep a used clamshell and call it good.
Cell phones and particularly texting cell phones are causing more accidents than drunk drivers. When the insurance companies (that actually run our govornment) have had enough - I'm sure tough cell phone laws will get passed.
