Default Corvettes hold there value better than others

I read a lot of discussion about what '84s are worth, C4s not worth much, etc.

Consider this:
A '90 Corvette holds its value better than a '90 Lexus, Mercedes or BMW.

A '94 Vette in decent condition is worth between $6,000 - $10,000.
A '94 Lexus LS450 in good condition is lucky if it gets $6,000. An ES350 is worth less. A '94 BMW of any model , in any condition is worth a lot less than the Lexus or Vette. This holds true for Mercedes against Vettes.

In my research a Vette in decent condition will command a higher price than a decent Lexus, BMW or Mercedes of the same year.

A 1999 Vette is still going between $14,000 - $17,000.
A 1999 BMW 32x or 52x goes for about $10,000 - $12,000.

The Vette is a better resale investment and value. Even the '84. What '84 commands $4500 of another brand?

The '82 vette is getting $12-$16K. What '82 of any Mercedes or BMW commands that?

My 92 is holding it's value, currently for sale at $30,000. As long as I hold it, the value remains.

If you are looking to collect, the 15-20 year old car is at the bottom of it's value and if you find a clean one, scoop it up.

I just got into my C4 because it was cheap enough that I couldn't really lose too much money outside of wrecking it.

By the time I'm done enjoying my Corvette, it will have salvage value.

Sure wish I kept my '81. C3's are holding better value than C4's.

Why is everyone so obsessed about the value of these things? How can you enjoy anything when you have to worry about it's value all the time...........

I always the like the window sticker price vs current resale.

For example the 94 Vette coupe had a base msrp of $36,285 and the 94 LS450 had a base of $51,200.

Then factor in cost to repair/maintain, and a vette will always look to be a better value.

What better car to play with for the money. Enjoy it. Punish it. Then part it out.

I don't have to worry about the value of mine because,
1.) I don't give a crap.
2.) There are only about 7 threads at any given time telling me how awesome my C4 is and what it's worth.

I don't care about the value of it, I just enjoy the shet out of it. I most likely have put as much into it as I paid for it. Most of them were options for me though.

thats how I justified shelling out 9K for my 95 a year ago,I told my wife it would be worth that much for years to come, so if I needed the money I could just sell it and not loose anything.Well now that we have been together over a year now,had a few ups and downs, I'm in love with her I don't think I want to ever sell.
