Rear Diffuser
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Would you by any chance have any pictures or could at least describe how your diffuser is mounted?
Does it attach to the spare tire housing?
I've long since gotten rid of both the spare tire as well as the housing for a cleaner look from the rear. If your diffuser can be mounted without the need of the the plastic housing being in place, place me on the list of interested buyers. I've got money in hand!

So... sad news... I had to start back from scratch... The curved fins I was trying to get on the first design were just to hard to make symetric. Nevertheless, I dove back in. This time around I used thicker cardboard and straight fins.
Here's the two side by side. I like the thicker look of the new one.

Tape Tape Tape....

Couple layer of fiberglass on... Its really solid. Glad I went with the thicker cardboard.

Finally out of fiberglass! That was my cue that I was done. Here's a pic after cleaning it up a bit and sanding and such.

As of this past weekend I drilled the mounting holes, etc and started the bondo work. Shouldn't need too much more bondo work. I'm gonna try to finish that up today or tommorrow and then paint! Here's a pic with the first coat of bondo sanded down.

I'm really happy with where its at now and can't wait to get it in the car. What I'm going to do first is just remove the spare tire and cover for a week or two and just put the diffuser in and see if I get any good / bad comments on it before I decide to drill holes and such in the tire cover.
But I'll keep you guys posted be on the lookout for some more pics in the next few days.

Nice work on the cardboard/glass one, your second version looks like it belongs.
Perhaps a future project for me too when I'm locked in by snow.
