Removing Air cleaner housing locking *****????
I feel ignorant asking this...but how do you remove the 2 Air cleaner housing locking *****. They just spin without loosening or tightening. Thanks...phil :flag

Mine did the same thing, if I remember right I took a large flat bladed screwdriver and shoved it under the housing and pushed on the screw shaft to hold it tight while unscrewing the *****.

its a little trick getting them things off, i put my screwdriver in and pushed up while turning, i dont believe there was any real thread in there for them to screw into.

I coaxed mine out by using a shop towel so I could get a decent grip on the *****, but mine were slightly rusted and were a major PITA to twist out.
When putting them back in, I coated the threads with some grease and next time to service the air filter it was a lot easier.

Be careful when putting them back in as there is a particular spot for the short and long ones. Don't mix them up :crazy: :seeya
