Ok, here it is....
So my sister has a car with a broken timing belt and bent valves. I tell her I'll fix it, but she has to get it up here to me, since I have no way of towing from one city to another.
Well, my cousin I haven't seen in years...her husband tows my sisters car up, he notices my two corvettes. He starts telling me how he has an 88 Callaway TT in his garage. A dead guys wife GAVE it to him. They want to get it running again...been sitting since 1996, seats rotten, interior rotted out...headlights don't work, etc.
He said the local vette dealer offered $2,000.00 yes, 2G, thats all!!!!!!!!
He said he wants to pull the motor, but he's going to get rid of it because the guys son has a girl he wants to give it too...
I made the offer of straight up trading my 87 in premo condition for it!!!
He really liked my 87 too...
OH GOD....PLEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZ PLEEEEEEEZZZZ make him trade me!!!!! PLEEEEEEEEZ
I'll be real good!!! Promise!!!! :blueangel: :blueangel: :blueangel:
He said the one thing it does is run...and he's afraid to drive it because it's so fast...he said it will break traction on the highway just hitting passing gear!
The way I heard the original story, was it sat in a barn for 20 years.
Also the guys wife caught him cheating and sold his beloved car for $100.00
Then there was the brand new 1953 Corvette bricked up in a wall since new.
Then there was the brand new Corvette for $500.00 cuz a guy commited suicide in it and they can't get the smell out.
This might be true but I doubt it.
Family is the worst. The guys full of it.

I saw a magazine story with pictures about this car. It is true it was at a dealership and they built a block room in the building for the car and put it away. I do not remember the details since it was a while back. I think it may have been in Corvette Fever.
