C4 Model Differences
Just wondering if there was a website or online resource where there is detailed information regarding the model differences of C4 Vettes. Just wanted to know exactly the differences between 84, 85, 86...etc. mechanically and appearance wise.

Too many to list be more specific. 1985 syitched to TPI from cross fire. 1986 first year vert became available again. third tail light added in 86. My 85 had a prob with rocker arm cover oil leak, I think they changed the design in 86. I'm no expert, I just sleeped in a holiday in last night
just thought of another one , OD switch in the 4+3 was moved in mid 85 from the console to the shifter

Head to the book store and buy a copy of the Corvette Black Book. It's very thorough on every Vette from 1953 to 2002.

the major changes:
84 year 1
85 L98
86 ABS
89 ZF6 speed
90 LT5/ZR1
91 interior and body caps
92 LT1
96 LT4
somewhere in there the 700R4 was replaced, too...
thats the big stuff - correct me if I be wrong.

Thanks you VERY much, you guys are great.
To be more specific, I always see 1984 Vettes MUCH cheaper than the later years and was wondering what the huge disparity was/is.
Also, I like the body differences in the later C4's - is this something that can be upgraded if an earlier C4 is purchased? Is it costly/difficult???

It's not very expensive to convert the outside of an early C4 to a late C4. Go to http://www.c5west.com and check out what they have... I think this site actually has stuff for sale too. Doesn't it?
