Usually if the compressor itself was trying to seize and/or locked up in turn causing the clutch to fail the area around the hub and pulley would look burnt and discolored. Further when this occurs the serp belt is trying to spin the clutch pulley while the compressor is trying to seize up. The belt would be very noisey and squealing.

If none of the above occured and you can turn the front hub by hand (yes you'll feel some resistance on a good compressor as the pistons move)--The compressor itself is likely OK.

I could not agree more. It was food for thought on a wish list but would not even give you a suggestion on how to do it.

Gooood deal on the DVM. You seem to be beyond many of the suggestions in you thread already and know what the problems is. The question now is how to go about the fix.

Going with a remanufactured compressor with clutch. One year warranty. Off the *Bay at a decent price.

The pressure switch on my ninety five broke a wire on the plug side !
Also if you have lost your R 134 charge nothing will work but I assume you checked that .
If you turn on your A C and second fan comes on that should mean your climate control switch is working .
Ecklers has the Rebuilt Climate Control Switches but they are pricey !

All fixed now....about an hour to change compressor without working hard. Could do it again in thirty minutes. Great cold air coming out right now but it was almost too cool last night to charge it correctly...we will see if I have to add a bit more freon. Its close. Scared a bit since it was an ebay item but it works fine for about the same price as a used one. One year warranty.
