No that's what I started off with. Just digging around some old photo files and found that. I really liked that color but could not stand the glue on effects. Still a lot of work left to do. Just rebuilt both headlight motors with new gears but I cant get them to come up. Go down just fine. Gonna try new relays this week and see if that solves the problem. If I could locate another 84 hood cheap, I think I would try finding a fixed light that suits the lines.... Really love the looks of my FR-S head lights and they light up the world. Frankensteining my car :\

Update: Just started the installation of the Pioneer App2 radio. It's a double din radio and what a pain to get it in there. Pretty cool device though. It mirrors the display of your phone, has hands free calling, back up camera, and lots of other options. Basically any thing your phone can do this displays that via large touch screen plus radio. Speakers are from Polk Audio and sound good. I didn't realize the 6X9 wouldn't just bolt in. Maybe there is an adapter plate. Also want Polk in the front but that's another day and from what I gather, no simple task either. I will post pictures later once its all done. I can't decide which camera to use with it and still need to run new antenna wire. Till those are done I will be leaving the trim out. If anyone else is thinking about this radio for their din and a half hole be advised you will have to cut things that cant simply be undone.

Relays are what the head lights needed but still having issues with the switches inside the motor assembly.

The car is back in paint getting the imperfections removed. Once I get it home I have all new trim for the dash and console. Bought a double din mod piece for the radio. Last thing to do will be the cluster refurb. I hope!![IMG][/IMG]

The quoted link above is where I ordered mine from. I called them first to check availability and he did warn me that the paint they use to finish the piece is of a different color and texture. It was none the less surprising how much different it was when I received it. Considering what must be involved to reshape the trim piece I can accept all the imperfections with it. I can't recommend this product if perfection is what you expect, you wont get it. In addition to this piece I ordered new cluster trim and console trim from a vendor. And now to get everything to look somewhat fluid and professional looking I am considering sending all the pieces out to have them faux carbon fibered finished. But that will be very expensive. Once I have them installed I will post pictures.

So I finally get my car back from the paint shop and it looks worse than it did before. In addition I have a nice inch long cut in the drivers seat where something sharp was thrown on it while there. I didn't notice that until a few days later because of all the paint dust on the inside. It doesn’t appear to be color sanded and there are runs in the color and runs in the clear. JOY. Got a new gas tank I need to figure out how to install without removing the rear cover. 16 inch tires need to be replaced and we all know choices on that. and the Advanced Keyless entry, remote start, ignitions system to install yet. More Joy. It should be a fun car when finished. Heck it is a fun car, just wish the thousands I spent for paint was more satisfying. I hope some day I get to drive a late model vette for comparison notes. From what I have read the Z51 package on an 84 is the most fun if fun equals "go cart feel and response". Which this car definitely has that feel. If I find that all corvettes are like that I will be surely disappointed considering all the cash that has been dumped into this one.
