Default rear window defoger

I'm running out of things to fix on my 84.... LOL. It is getting cold here in the North East and the rear window defroster on my car won't work. It turns on and the heated mirrors work, but not the defroster. If the mirrors heat, the defroster fuse should be good right?
So, what do I check next?
Thanks,
Glen

Exactly what I was thinking.
Check if you've got power there and work on from that.

Good luck.

And also check the defroster grid on the rear window, to make sure you don't have any broken lines.

I had a chance to check last night and I coudn't get power at either connector at the lifts? Are the heated mirrors and rear defroster on the same fuse -the owners manual doesn't mention the mirrors.

Looking at my 86 fsm, It shows mirrors and hatch are on the same circuit. RH side strut is power side.
Where did you get ground from when checking for power ?

I tried the LH & RH sides -I was grounding to the studs that hold the seat rails.
Is ther a better ground that I should use. I'll try again tonight
Thanks, Glen

I had that happen on my Chrysler and had to solder the grid together and then it started to work.

If I was to look at my struts one strut is positive and the other is the negative. If you measure the voltage between those two wires you should see if there is current there.

On my 95 there are two fuses one in the passenger side fusebox for the heated mirrors and another for the hatch defog in the engine bay by the ECU. Check the manual for your year how the fuses are.

Best of luck

That's a good ground.
Did it ever work ?
Maybe connector 211 is unplugged or corroded ?

From my 86 FSM, but I would think the schematic for manual AC would still cover 84.
