Your bridge between the yellow and green/white wires is...interesting, but should work as long as good contact is maintained. Just be sure it's well wrapped in electrical tape or otherwise insulated.
I was wondering about that purple wire, it really didn't belong in the dash if it was what I thought it was. Its good you traced all the wires before making any changes. You'll probably figure out what it is as you continue working on your car.

Keep at it, you're making a lot of progress.

I finish the job by tape all that plug with electrical 3M tape
when servicing the starter relay. the car battery was almost dead. had only enough power for lights. but when I turned on the car, I could hear the starter clcik. but the engine would not turn.
I figured the problem was low battery. so I asume that the problem was solve, and all I need was a new battery
This battery I has was a 620 amp
went out to buy other batteries. the old one was giving me many problems all ready.
buy a 630 amp batterie
when installing the Batteries in the car. same thing happened. only could hear the starter click but the motor does not rotate.
the factory recommends a 700 amp batterie. I am going on lunch break to buy a 700 amp batterie. I hope this solve the problem
important to mention. is that before removing the cable with the power button. the car start with the 620 amp batteria. if it was fully charged. I did recharge that battery a couple of times . but the last time the car did not start, with the push botton still on the car and the 620 amp battery fully charge.
any suggestions before going to buy another bateira ??????
Temporarily attach the old push button harness if you still have it to verify that the battery and starter are still good. A weak battery or a bad starter/ solenoid will make it click.

before I disconnect the battery cable. it will give me the same problem at the end. even do I had full charge battery.
I open another thread about this. people are telling me is the starter solenoid.
I bought a FSM for my '86 when I first got it and all the diagrams were in color. Over the years it fell apart so I bought a new manual from H.E.L.M. about a year ago. They went cheap and all the diagrams are now in black and white.

A bigger battery will not solve your problem. A 500 amp battery will start the engine just fine if the rest of the cars electronics are working. A bigger battery will just give you more cranking endurance (turn over longer) than a smaller battery will. A bigger battery will probably start the engine easier in very cold weather like 10* F or colder. Or might be needed for a very high compression engine.
If it is not cranking with a fully charged (any kind) of battery, the problem is with the starter or the voltage going to it. Like bad battery connection, cables etc.
The alternator supplies your current needs while driving the car.
