No problem man. I just got inundated with negativity from the get go. I do not remember our specific conversation, as I've had thousands such conservations, as you could probably guess. I would know you if I saw you. Which is why I posted my pic with today's dated newspaper. Any time you need anything just ask. It really makes me feel good to run into a fellow Godspeeder...

All is cool, Take care man!

We get a lot of new members that show up just for the sheer sake of creating chaos and stirring the pot. They post multiple threads with seemingly wild claims, stir up controversy, and then sit back and watch the fun. If you're the real deal, forgive us if the long term members are a bit jumpy.....we've seen it all. The net effect is that it can be tough on the n00bs until they prove themselves. If it pans out that they're real, it will be obvious and they will be accepted into the community.

Many of us have met each other in person and know each other. If you're on the level, you'll get there too.

I get it. Hey, believe it or not, I was president of my fraternity at Cal Berkeley. So I know all about hazing. It is cool. Soon, my very 1st Vette, will be all built up and anyone on here can check her out, take her for a spin or down the drag-strip. Anything I can do to help, and I can help with a lot; everything I have said is true. But like I always say, "Don't tell me, show me." And that is exactly what I intend to do. I drove my car for only 30 miles before dropping her off at Winklers to get the body fixed and I really, really loved how she rode. I can't wait to get her on the road. Haven't felt this way about a car in a long, long time; and I've had all kinds of cool cars. I got's me some Corvette Fever!

Congrats on the 'Vette. Yes, they are a unique driving experience. I've driven the new Mustangs, new Camaro's (though, admittedly, just the base rental models and nothing hot) and they don't have nuthin' on how a C4 Corvette feels under your ***!

Well that's good enough for me. Welcome to the brotherhood. Just remember that Corvette Fever is a chronic condition

Off the subject, but I'm old enough to remember Berkeley when the place was overrun with hippies. Is it still like that?

Santa Fe is even getting artsy fartsy. Mz Friz and I go up there to visit Veterans Cemetary once a year. The Old Town Square used to have Indians selling their wares out on the sidewalk....last time it seemed like there were more....shall we say....folks who've exited the mainstream?

I used to spend my summers up there as a kid....my older sis lived there and I'd spend a month in the summer up there. Even went to see the burning of Zozobra once....that was a hoot.

Some nice Corvette roads up there though....the run from Madrid to Cedar Crest is loads of fun in the Vette.

Yep, Cal is still liberal cesspool, I had a couple nobel professors and I learned so much, my education is very important to me. But I'd rather not talk about politics, religion and ethnicity on a public forum. Ya know? My wife, Zoe, went to the Zozobra. She grew up here and was one of the city center rats in High School... I love it here. The roads are awesome, there's a drag strip in ABQ, can't wait till my Bud Jim at HP Turbo gets me my kit and super ram. Should do some killer times. I'm gonna have to put a roll cage in order to run her more than once... Let me know the next time you come to town and I'll take you to my favorite BBQ joint, unless you're Vegan.

Like Friz said we do get trolls and their b/s, so we tend to question motives. Welcome to the nut house.

I had a friend who used these guys before on his Mustang I believe. It came out very good, like factory stuff. Anyone tried it on a 'Vette? Auction said kit was for C4 up to 1989 model, so I emailed them and asked if they have a kit for my '90 and below is their positive response.

Here is the other kit on eBay. They claim their kit is thinner and that makes it much better than the competitor. Don't know if that is true. There's is $25 more.

Fake carbon fiber. Ack. I dislike it more than fake wood(and I ripped out an entire kitchen because it was fake oak). Someone needs to make some real components. Yes carbon fiber is more expensive than cheap plastic with a coating(sticker), but if you are willing to buy it in quantity(not 1-5 yds at a time), the price is much better than most people know. I have actually got a good enough deal on carbon to use it as structural reinforcement on large parts and the primary material for small parts.

There is also the labor side of real carbon parts. Plastic can be done by several methods such as thermoforming, injection, etc(all minimal labor, minimal time). Real carbon can be hand layup, vacuum bagged or vacuum infused(my personal favorite). No matter which way is used a few hours willstill be required. For many parts there will also be some post finishing time. In the end, labor is the major part of the cost and cannot easily be reduced.

I totally agree, I'd rather have the stock interior than be surrounded by carbon fiber decals and yes, you can tell the difference. I work for a company that has a small smelly black and white animal as a mascot (please don't guess here!) and we use a lot of the real deal as mentioned by blr33439. Add a honeycomb substrate of whatever size you need and you've got an incredibly strong assembly.
