I knew a guy who hit a COW! He said the front end of his C3 was completely destroyed. The cow jumped up and ran away.
I came across a big buck at o'dark thirty one morning, right in front of me. Fortunately I was able to get around him. It was a good thing I didn't scare him into jumping into the lane I moved to.
A friend of mine who works the night shift totalled 2 cars last year. Funny thing is he said "that's it, I'm done with the back roads." It's not so much the back roads as it is driving 100MPH down said back roads.
Remember any wreck you can walk away from is a good one.
I've actually clipped a deer's leg in my C4..... driving way to fast down a twisty back road at night. He was just barely standing in the road, my bumper just barely caught his back leg as he jumped away. So if you see a deer with limp.....
One was a buck that suddenly appeared in the road. I had just enough time to stop, but still clipped his legs. He pee'd on my hood and ran away.
The second one was actually two deer. I saw the first one and swerved but didn't see the second one. It must have jumped just before I hit it because it bounced off the left windshield pillar and ended up in the middle of the road about 15 feet away.
Those are bad, I lost two friends to cows. Both cars we totaled, both friends died and one cow died. Once I bumped one with my 77 Monte Carlo and the car stopped and felt like I hit a concrete wall.

Sucks to hear. Like everyone says, cars can be repaired/replaced and any wreck you can walk away from is a good one.
I had a deer jump over my Camaro one evening a few years ago. All I saw was the white of the under-belly out the driver's side window. The lady in the SUV behind me braked really hard (I heard her tires screech), but had to have seen a really neat show.
