Default Heater problems?

I have a 92 coupe.. This evening he temp went down into the low 40 so decided to put on the heat.. Set the temp to 72..but it continued to blow cold air... Set it to 80 and it was warm.. Set it to 90 and it was blowing hot... So how accurate are the temp settings on the climate control display??.. Blend door seems to be working..Is there an interior sensor that monitors ambient temp in the cabin??

Seems the air doesn't seem to begin to warm up until I set it above 75.. Is this normal??

Thoughts opinions?

I guess you could always take it to a mechanic to check it. Or wear warmer clothes

next time put a meat thermometer into the duct and see what it reads. remember your body temp is 97* anything below that will fill cold

Nowhere man.. I thought about that.. But wasn't sure if the temp set on the display was the temp of the air coming out the air ducts..... Or if it was set up like a house thermometer heat full on then cycles off and on to keep the set temp...

I will hit it with the temp gun...to see.. Thank you
