I'm going to try to choose my words carefully here because I have never dealt with the company or anyone there, and am not taking sides here.
Is this a large outfit, or a very small company or 1-man show? My point is that we all as people have an off-day, some of us more often than others. In a larger company responsibilities for quality control, customer service etc are spread among many people and the overall responsibility for creating a positive culture is shared.
In a one-man operation you are pretty much at the whim of the person calling the shots. If they happen to be erratic in their outlook on things, or on a given day don't feel like being bothered by a warranty issue, there is nobody to keep them on track of serving the customer - it's their bat, ball and field. If someone in a larger outfit blows off a customer very often they're likely out the door. If the owner is the one calling all the shots and you have a problem, you're at the mercy of whether he or she gives a hoot that particular day. Which can lead to having one customer very pleased, while another who wound up on the vendor's bad side being screwed.
Not saying that is or is not the case with this vendor - just food for thought in general. YMMV.
I would say it is a small company. The day I was there he was all by himself in the shop, there was some others in the office and I believe it was his wife doing a top on the rig they mate the top to the frame with.
He insisted on fitting my top for me, he claims the first install is the critical one and many people simply will not follow the instructions. After he installed the top he then wanted to show me his new headers I mentioned earlier, we talked for a bit about the headers and he had other things to do so I left with my new top & a big smile on my face. And I STILL want a set of his headers, when mine need replacing I will be paying him another visit.
