fuel pump guide?

1985, all stock.

i need to take a look at my fuel pump. its sounding a little... bad. and my car is spittering and spuddering. anyone have a guide on removing it?

Before removing fp I would check the fuel pressure. It should be around 40 lbs. That should take about 5 mins using a guage threaded on the valve on the injection rail.

i need to mainly check the fuel filter, thats why im askin lol

You won't even finish the first beer....

Remove fuel filler door and rubber boot. Disconnect wiring harness. Disconnect fuel lines. Remove sending unit assembly bolts. Lift assembly out of the tank.

Reverse to install.

Unless it's making an odd noise, check fuel pressure first. Troubleshoot, don't guess.
