recently got a 91 Coup with auto trans. Just noticed today that just before I come to a complete stop I hear and feel a very slight bump. Seems to be happening when it downshifts to first gear. The trans seems to be performing very well other than this. Any thoughts? Thanks
thanks for the links. I read them and they state this problem was solved in later model trans. The sound I am getting only started recently so I was wondering if this could be something else or would the sound happen even though the trans may have been a later model with the proper parts.
My 90 does that. But only in D3. The shop says it won't hurt anything but some people are annoyed by it.
same here - my 90 had the "clunk," and it was definitely worse in D3 than in OD. took it to both a dealer and an independent transmission shop - both said, it shouldn't hurt anything. probably just sounds worse than it actually is...
