C100 is in your first snapshot just to the left of the clutch pedal with a cover over it. It's a (approx)115mm X 115mm box right on the firewall behind a dangling black connector and the yellow SIR harness. You can't miss it. I don't recall if the cavities are ID'd on the inside or not but G1 would be the top I believe on the left.

Under-hood it looks like this:

Inside the car:

This is '96

That is the correct connector, and your photo is of the C100.

In the diagram the tach is the white wire (#E1). You see the location on the right side of the diagram, right next to the letter "E".

This view is on the motor side of the connector, so under the dash it will be on the LEFT side of C-100; the WHITE wire.

Like the man said...You really need an FSM!

I used a Raptor shift light, mounted behind the AC grill. I used a coat hanger wire to fische the Raptor wires down to the C100 connector, being sure to disconnect the battery first, and staying the hell away from that yellow wire running to the steering wheel (air bag circuit).

This is where the Raptor fits quite nicely with installation amounting to drilling a hole and taping the barrel of the light.

There is a good ground spot on the hood release bracket, if I recall, and I believe A1 (bottom right on the diagram) is a switch-on power source for your light.

I believe for the OP's car the tach signal is G1 like it's mentioned in the link for the install in the 2nd post by "JamesLT1"

A DISCREPANCY!

I didn't see what year Vette the OP has. I have an FSM for the 1990 L98 and ZR-1. I double checked to see I was looking at the L98 schematic, and it clearly shows in at least two diagrams - a schematic and the connector pin-out - that the tach wire is E1. Hummmm.... What MY are we actually looking for, might be a good question, huh?

I believe the OP's car is a '96 but I believe that anything '92 or newer the tach signal is G1. I thought I recalled the year from his earlier posts but I didn't check. I had seen his many posts regarding the car and the "color" is his snapshots and the Avatar might have swayed by MY choice.

*** I checked and it looks like he's got a '94. Here's his first request:

If your car is a '92+ it will be G1 located where my images show. Is your car a '96?

It's good that you mentioned that. I've had others tell me that it's best to go to "the source" for the connection and I would think if it were being added as a "to be used" purposeful install a person should consider that. Of course the "dip switches" allow calibration BUT still. You went the distributor side of the filter I'm guessing?

CONGRATZ! You'll love the shift light, but I recommend you mount it in the grill cuz holding it in your left hand and shifting with your right is not going to leave you with enough hands to hold the steering wheel!

Kiddin of course
