Default Do you need an OptiSpark?

Restore spark to your LT1/LT4 motor with this BRAND NEW Distributor from AIP Electronics
This Distributor EXCEEDS OEM specification and comes 100% complete with everything needed including a new Optispark wiring harness.
(Note: Harness may not fit all applications and you may have to use your original harness.) Our AIP LT1 Optical Encoder is temp rated at 330°
and produces an accurate timing reference signal up to 8000 RPM, exceeding the OEM Mitsubishi encoder used in the AC Delco factory LT1 distributors.
This is most likely the best aftermarket LT1/LT4 distributor you will ever come across. Uses AIP's own Mitsubishi Specification Optical Encoder
for the most accurate/dependable LT1 Distributor yet.
1 Year Warranty!
Vented $159.95
Non Vented $169.95

I just wanted to say that I ordered a non-vented Opti for my 1994 coupe and received it within a week. It looks very well made and I hope to have it installed soon. I will report back on my impressions once that is complete for those who might be interested.

Does anybody know if this is a "remove & replace" that the average
guy can do at home or is it a shop event?

if you can change a water pump you can do this. it is very straight forward and easy to do. this is a great write up so follow it.

if you replace your opti replace your water pump as long as you are in there.

Chatham, Thanks! I can do quite a bit but I didn't want to get in
over my head if it was really specialized. I'll be able to handle it.
