The terminal in the plastic connector is more than likely worn...and NOT making a good tight grip on the terminal in the ignition switch...thus causing for the connection to get HOT...and melting. The wire terminal may need to be removed and cut off and CORRECT ONE re-installed and correctly crimped back on.
