Default Help me

I drive a 92 Corvette but I am not the registered owner of this car. Today I got a ticket for 69 in a 45 because I was being a dumb ***.. Besides the point lol On the form the officer was supposed to list the registered owner (not me) if it was not the operator (me) and he failed to. And he also listed the car as an 03, which it pretty clearly said on the registration and insurance card that the car was a 92.. Thoughts on how I should handle this! Fight it because of the incorrect/missing information? I know I'm probably not going to get this ticket thrown out but I think any reasonable person would agree it should be lowered at least.. Or pay the ticket and be done with it? It's only $218 but still

Well the officer gave you one break by writing it at 69 so your not 25 miles over. That's reckless driving 3 more points in delaware. How many points do you have? one option is to plea no low which is basically a years probation and no points. But if you get another ticket I'n a year then you get the original points plus the new offense. Lawyer could grease the wheels and maybe get it thrown out but it will cost ya$. I'n Delaware, you can show up early and talk to the officer who's there that day. Your issuing officer is probably not going to be there if you want to fight the ticket you get rescheduled, more time from work$. The officer who is there will probably cut you some slack and cut the ticket to say 10 miles over for a guily plea. No judge involved. Points are what you want to avoid, they jack your insurance up.

Go to traffic school if it's offered. At least it will hide the ticket from your insurance and no points.

You admitted to being a dumb ***, so I assume you really were doing 69 (or close to it) in a 45 zone?

If so, why should the ticket be lowered?
Just because some incorrect information was written down?

Because just the same way I am at fault for speeding, he is at fault for not providing the required information. Especially when he had it in his hand and I'm sure on his computer as well

Get away with what you can.

The rest was crabby ranting.

Fight the ticket, the idiot is supposed to be able to take down data and make big decisions. They give him weapons too. Doubt he was doing you a favor or he would let you off.
Thank you for the opinion. I just wanted some outside opinions to make sure I was not out of line for wanting to fight it

By that logic why should I have been given a ticket just for driving at an incorrect speed?

I am in Texas but I had a ticket. I went to the clerk before the ticket was due. And showed proof that it was a GMC truck and not a CHEVY they threw it out on the spot. Don't know if it will work up there but here the ticket has to be right.

Anything else will only serve to compound your "dumb ***" conclusion. Remember, the Judge and officer know each other. Only an attorney can even the score.

Just pay the ticket and be done with it. You were speeding, case closed.

ticket should be tossed out because it is written wrong. the police have to write them correctly and if what you say is true its not even close.

the court should care that the facts are correct so you should argue that. the DA cares about money, they want the fine.

if you cant get the ticket tossed get the DA to plea it down to a non driving offense such as taillight out since the cop did such a lousy job and pay the fine. you both win, they get the money which is really what they want and you get no points which will raise your insurance.
