I bought my '88 a few months ago for several thousand more, but the engine was a total rebuild(19kmiles) with substantial Mods. 110k miles, custom installed 6speed(no 4+3), interior-acceptable.
I think its a good asking price but 8k is where it should trade.
Hope that helps :chevy

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about $8k myself. A quick check at Kelly BlueBook showed 6,580 for private sale, 9,400 for dealer.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm hoping by putting a C4 in the garage for the wife, she'll get off my butt about the $$'s I spend on the C5.

Bought our 88 last year for 7800, it needs a new interior and some other work. THe dealer wanted 8500 for it, we talked him down to what we felt was reasonable.

With that said the price is probably at the very high end for an 88 (JMHO). It would have to be immaculate, no stone chips in the paint, no curb rash on the wheels, etc.

I'd offer 8000 and see if he came down to 8500. again JMHO

Sounds like the thing to do, but you just may end up driving it yourself when you find out how good these C4s are...
