Wasn't on the forum or doing anything C4 related for like a month, month and a half.
I was surprised to see some good condition LT4s priced around 10k w/ like 100kish miles maybe more don't remember.
Is this a sign? lol I'm not crying about it, I'm not a seller. I'm actually looking for a friend who saw my C4 and started looking for some right away
And I've noticed guys here saying their C4s are starting to get attention. So the attention is going up but prices maybe going down. Perfect buyer storm?! $#!t I will get me a DD at this rate
The C4 is starting to get more attention but that does not mean prices are always going up with that attention. There are so many years, models and conditions so not surprised prices are all over the place on the C4. On top of that you have C5 and C6 prices pushing down.
I just saw a very clean '98 C5 vert with right at 100K miles with a asking price of $ 10,995.00 and that was from a dealer. I had a customer who just purchased a '05 C6 vert with 45K miles for $ 17,500.00.
Condition is everything. Corvettes that have been well cared for will always bring more money than high mileage ragged out ones. The same can be said for any Corvette generation.
Price wise, the C-4 is at the bottom of the corvette food chain. Even the late model, plastic pigs of c-3 fame go for more bucks.Base model c-4 vettes are not going to go up in price for years to come and if thats why you bought your c-4 ( a regular example) your in the hobby for the wrong reason. just my opinion.
Probably, but I think they are close if not at the bottom price now. They will go up, after all they are Corvettes, question is when, seems usually takes 30-40 years. People were giving away muscle cars in the 70s, early 80s. Even the late 70s C3s and F bodies are going up, the Disco and redneck branding is starting to be forgotten, and now they are classics and people are doing restorods and protouring too. People also moving to the later 70s versions, because the early 70s versions are harder to find, and the prices have gone up too much.

I agree, kinda. The late C3, which I think we can all agree is the absolutely lowest performance version (53-54 Blue Flame cars are in another category) in Corvette history, yet they still seem to bring more money than early C4s. Maybe because it is from the same generation as the late 60's/early 70's cars, but I just can't figure it out. The C4 meanwhile, seems to have such a bad rap, (mostly underserved) that it does not generate the following (outside of here on the forum) that even a same vintage F-body does. Top tier cars will always bring more, but there is no value in regular "driver" cars. I have been toying with the idea of an older, low mile, daily driver, and could have bought multiple C4s under $6k w/under 80k. No, no LT1 or 6MN cars, but still. I just think that the people who grew up with a C4 poster on their bedroom wall now can either afford a C5 or even C6, and might be scared away by the upkeep of a now 30 year old car. As far as a performance buy they can't be beat, but let's keep that to ourselves.
I'd go and look at it, but i'm a weak person, and most likely i'd bring it home. I don't need a third C4 and pretty sure the wife would shoot me anyway - I've been trying to sell my 90 coupe - 46K miles, clean, original for $8500 - can't get so much a second look. I have noticed that the asking prices for clean C3's is on the rise though....
Sold my '90 ZF vert 44K miles three years ago for 12K. Just bought it back with 8K more miles and same well cared for condition for 9750$. I don't think we're at the bottom yet.
Fat assed, bloated C5 market shouldn't be compared to lean and mean C4s. New school versus old school. Hang onto your nice C4 and enjoy the ride.
I don't know. But I do know this. Sellers always want the most, and buyers always want to pay the least. I think prices are low because everyone says"c4s suck". Even 3rd gen f bodies go for more when both are in really nice shape
