I didn't have to sell a kidney to get this one but it was in pretty rough shape when I got it.
I really like the unique look of the super ram and hopefully it will perform the way everyone has said. However, after having done the install I kind of understand how when new they may have got a bad rep since install can be a bit challenging at times, I'm guessing that hurt thier sales.
I have never actually seen another super ram in person so they must be a bit rare at least in my area. Anyone know how many of these were actually made?

The upper bolt from the bottom was a horrible design. To make it easier the last engine builder taped from the top. Now to remove the upper all that needs to be done is remove the lid and all the bolt are right there.
A while back we knew there were vacuum leaks with the SR and the supercharger - so we smoke bombed the upper. There were leaks everywhere; this made it easy to correct the issues. We went the extra mile and made hard pipe/welded connections (removing many of the rubber connections). All remaining connections were v-banded.

Yes, I put the big inside runner to plenum bolts in from the top and then tied them together with wire, I have no idea how anyone could put the big bolts that go on the inside of the runners in any other way...
I have a question for you all;
I have got my engine going again now and just finished the valve lash adjustment today. could you explain the proceedure for using the smoke machine to detect vacume leaks?
I noticed my lid bolts had backed off quite a bit so I think that was responsible for my slightly high idle (900 rpm vs 800rpm normal idle) but I might try using a smoke machine just to make sure there are no other vacume leaks. I'll put loctite on the lid bolts tonight.
In case anyone was wondering what happened with my sorry looking well used super ram intake that was missing it's original lid (refer to first post).
Here's what it looks like installed on my car now...
I painstakingly cleaned up and polished the intake, followed by clear powder coat. The lid was my design which I had machined out of a 3/8 thick aluminum plate and then I polished/powder coated it.
That 10 Fin looking lid looks like an updated version of the SR, Great great work !!!!
Love it !!!
