Replace PRNDL bar

Replace PRNDL bar
My son may have been a bit rough on the shifter in his 1984 C4. The indicator bar on the PRNDL broke. Anyone know how difficult it is to replace and where I might find a replacement? I've read about replacing the PRNDL bulbs and that sounds like a bit of a nightmare, taking all the consoles apart to get to the bulbs, I'm hoping it might be easier to get to the PRNDL bar.

This thread has a snapshot of the under-side of the console showing the housing etc. Perhaps JoeC has more snapshots.

Do you mean the pointer in the shift indicator? If you do a search on eBay for 14046747 you'll see several images. Where to buy? There should be several sources!!
