Default Spring Difference

I am in the process of putting a heaver engine in my 89 coupe. I know the springs from an 85 are softer than the springs from an 84. I also know the front spring from an 85 is different from an 89, the question is what is the difference and can the 85 front spring be made to work on an 89? Thanks in advance for your input. Mike

84-87 has a different front suspension geometry and mounting than the 88-96 cars.

Much of the rear will swap over, but the front will not.

Hi check out the link below, has great info on spring rates.
Have a look at your three letter code on the spring.
